Competitive athletic pursuits have defined my trajectory, originating in cross country and track at Pinewood and later at UCSD. Beyond finishing numerous marathons and shorter road races, my endurance training transitioned into masters pool swimming around 2000 and expanded into open water swimming in 2022. These endeavors encompass successful crossings of the Catalina Channel, navigating 20 Bridges around Manhattan, completing the two New Zealand marathon swims featured in the narrative, and undertaking various other long-distance aquatic challenges.
